Liverpool confirm the signing of Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke City on a five-year deal.

The 26-year-old will add greater depth and variety to Jürgen Klopp’s attacking options.

The Switzerland winger has agreed a long-term contract with Liverpool after moving from Stoke City for an undisclosed fee.

“As a player you always want to be on the biggest stage in football,” Shaqiri told the club’s official website .

“A few years ago I wanted to come too but it didn’t happen. I’m really happy that now I’m finally here. I want to improve myself too, I want to be with the best and I want to win titles.”

Shaqiri moved to the Premier League with Stoke in 2015, signing from Inter Milan.
In his three seasons with the Potters, Shaqiri made 84 appearances, scoring 15 goals and providing 15 assists.
