Report: Rahman Gumbo joins S.A club

Rahman Gumbo has joined South African National First Division side Witbank Spurs as the head coach.

Gumbo who is also the Warriors assistant coach was with ZIFA Southern Region Division One outfit Makomo since the start of the 2018 season after leaving Chicken Inn.

According to KickOff.com, Spurs CEO Freddy Mapulane confirmed the appointment of the 54-year-old gaffer.

“Our new coach is Rahman Gumbo,” Mapulane told the website.

“He is Zimbabwe national team assistant coach. The other one [Freddy Ngwenya] is no longer available. I think he got a better offer somewhere, so we had to search for a replacement because our aim is to start the pre-season with a coach.”

The former Chicken Inn gaffer also had spells in Malawi and Botswana where he won numerous accolades.
