Mangwiro cries foul after Ngezi loss

Triangle United coach Taurai Mangwiro was not happy with Ngezi Platinum’s antics during their league clash at Baobab Stadium on Saturday.

Madumburo won the match 3-1, but Mangwiro felt the hosts failed to show sportsmanship when they were leading as their players and ball-boys started to delay, interrupting their quest for a comeback.

“I won’t take kindly to the delaying tactics they were employing, instead of me coaching the team, I ended up being a ball-boy,” fumed Mangwiro.

“I don’t know where this will take our football, today they were too desperate, and when I look at Ngezi, they are one of the most professional teams in the country. It’s so disappointing.”

The gaffer also questioned the referee’s decision in the build-up to Ngezi’s third goal.

“The turning point was the third goal where the referee chose to play advantage when the player was lying in pain in front of him. From that situation, they (Ngezi) went on to score, but at 2-1, you could see Ngezi were on the back foot,” added Mangwiro.
