Mapeza frustrated!

FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza was frustrated by Yadah antics which saw his team drop two points that enabled second placed Ngezi Platinum reduce the gap between them to four points.

After getting the equaliser in the 76th minute through Ralph Matema, Yadah players resorted to feigning injuries, falling down at the slightest contact to frustrate the visitors’ rhythm, much to the annoyance of Mapeza.

“You must teach your players to play football not to just fall down. This is not how to play football, a player cannot just fall down when he is metres away from the ball,” fumed Mapeza at the Yadah technical bench after the game.

“You the media, these are some of the things that you should speak against. You are the mirror of the society, imagine if there were scouts and players are just falling down like this,” added Mapeza.

The result was a disappointing one for FC Platinum as their nearest rivals Ngezi Platinum recovered from a four-match losing streak to beat Triangle 3-1 and narrow the gap.

Ali Sadiki had made the best of the early exchanges getting the lead at the half-hour mark but a string of fluffed chances and a change of tide in the second half saw Matema head in a cross from Johannes Sibanda to snatch a point.
