Warriors hopeful favours England over Zim

Warriors hopeful Tristan Nydam says he favours to play for England over Zimbabwe.

The Ipswich Town midfielder was born in Harare but moved to the UK when he was seven years old. He has already been capped by England at U18 and U19 level but is still eligible to play for Zimbabwe.

“Playing for England is every boy’s dream,” said Nydam in an interview with an Ipswich based newspaper, East Anglian Daily Times.

“My U19 debut was at St George’s Park against Poland. We won 7-1, they weren’t great, but again what an experience. I spent 10 days at St George’s Park, what a place! We were involved in a lot of meetings, talking tactics and talking about training.”

This is not the first time the 18-year-old has revealed his intention to represent England. In November last year, he was quoted as saying: “Going forward, it’s going to be England and the Three Lions. I was born in Zimbabwe and lived there until I was seven when we moved over here.”
