Prince Dube at Maritzburg United

SuperSport United striker Prince Dube is being assessed at Maritzburg United as the KZN-based club continue to search for a replacement for Evans Rusike.

Dube joined SuperSport at the beginning of last season from Highlanders but was loaned to Black Leopards in January after failing to break into the first team.

The 21-year old who has also been linked to Bosso took part in Saturday’s 1-0 loss to Golden Arrows in the KZN Premier’s Cup.

“They [SuperSport] sent him for the weekend for this tournament, and we’ll take it from there,” Maritzburg coach Fadlu Davids told Kick-Off.

“The striker search is ongoing, and we are lucky enough we have until the end of August to be able to fill that space.

“We are looking in all areas of the world to be able to find that striker that will give us that replacement for Evans Rusike, who we haven’t replaced for the last six months.”

Rusike left Maritzburg for SuperSport in January, having netted 21 goals in 80 appearances for the Team of Choice over three-and-a-half years.
