The 59-year old, however, faces another election huddle in the quest to retain the ZIFA presidency.

He has been under pressure from the Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) who are arguing that his board’s tenure expired at the end of March.

Chiyangwa, his deputy Omega Sibanda and board member Philemon Machana tried to hang on, insisting that they had two more years still running on their tenure.

The plan was torn apart by world governing board Fifa which called for the holding of elections as soon as possible.

The polls are now set to take place on December 1, 2018.
