Billiat named Man of the match, Pitso not happy

Kaizer Chiefs winger Khama Billiat was named the Man of the match in the season opener against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.

The game ended in a 1-1 draw with Ramahlwe Mphahlele opening the scoring on the 8th minute before Ricardo Nascimento converted a penalty to equalise for the home team.

The encounter was Khama’s first league game in Chiefs colours. The Zimbabwe international joined the Soweto Giants in July after his contract with Sundowns expired.

On his thoughts about the game, Billiat said: “It was a tough match, and I think we did a lot of things that we wanted to do. There is still room for improvement.

“We created not as many chances as we wanted to, but there are moments that we (think we) should have converted them. It’s one of those things, it’s a learning curve.”

However, his former coach Pisto Mosimane seemed not happy with how the panel selected the most outstanding player.

When asked why he questioned who received the award, Pitso emotionally asked back saying: “What did he do.”
