Chicken Inn thrash Shabanie, Yadah blow advantage to settle for draw

Chicken Inn continued their dominance over Shabanie Mine following a 0-3 triumph at Maglas Stadium on Sunday.

The Gamecocks have never lost a league match against the Zvishavane side since their first meeting in 2011.

The play had a slow start and only picked up tempo towards the half-hour mark when Biggie Temera made a great stop to deny Passmore Bernard’s powerful strike. Darryl Nyandoro followed up with a good chance, pouncing on a rebound but skied his effort over.

Nyandoro had another opportunity inside the box to break the deadlock on the 39th minute, and again he failed to find the target.

The first half finished with no goals scored.

Nonetheless, it was different after the break as Denzel Taderera scored an own goal to give the visitors an advantage.

The cushion was doubled three minutes later when Innocent Muchaneka struck home from outside the box. Substitute Obadiah Tarumbwa sealed the victory with a header in the 81st.

In another match played this afternoon, Yadah blew away a 2-goal lead to settle for a draw thanks to Tafadzwa Chitukutuku’s late brace.

The Stars took the lead in the 11th minute courtesy of Simba Sithole’s effort and Willard Kalongoda got the second on the hour.

As the game seemed going in Yadah’s way, Chitukutuku pulled one back on the 90th minute before securing another goal a minute later to level terms.

Results:
Shabanie Mine 0-3 Chicken Inn
Yadah 2-2 Herentals
