Chitembwe praises Zvirekwi

Caps United coach Lloyd Chitembwe has lauded his captain Hardlife Zvirekwi for his mental strength after the player recovered from the horrific accident to give impetus to the club during the second half of the season.

Zvirekwi who missed the first half of the season after his left wrist was amputated, scored the solitary goal in the win over Black Rhinos and was undoubtedly the best player on view for Makepekepe.

“Hardlife is a fantastic player who showed mental aptitude to recover from such a horrific accident and come back to lead the team. Actually, it’s not surprising what he is doing, I would have been surprised if he was doing less than the performance he put against Black Rhinos,” said Chitembwe.

Zvirekwi continued to shine on his comeback, and his performance against a more physical Rhinos put to rest fears that he would struggle against tougher opponents.

This was Caps first win in the second half of the season and their first in four games after registering three consecutive draws in the previous matches. The victory pushed the Harare Giants to the 4th position on the log standings.
