Zim players abroad round-up

Leyton Orient forward Macauley Bonne and Dalian Yifang’s Nyasha Mushekwi were on target during the weekend.

Mushekwi scored a hattrick on Friday in his team’s 3-0 win over Guangzhou R&F in the Chinese Super League. The 30-year-old Zimbabwe international was making his return to the squad after he missed the previous game.

His opening goal came in the 35th minute and netted his second ten minutes into the second half before rounding up the victory in the 82nd minute.

However, the striker received a booking a few moments before he was subbed off.

England based Bonne hit a brace in his team’s 2-2 draw against Barrow AFC on Saturday.

The 22-year-old first found the back of the net on minute 55 to cancel out the visitors’ lead before handing Orient an advantage on the 80th-minute mark. His team conceded five minutes later as they shared the spoils.

Meanwhile, Bonne’s performance saw him selected in the National League Team of the Weekend.

Tendai Darikwa was also in action in Nottingham Forest’s 1-0 win over Reading while Adam Chicksen featured for ninety minutes in Bradford City’s 1-0 defeat to Barnsley in a League One encounter.

Celtic’s Kundai Benyu was again left out on the squad that lost on Saturday.

Club Brugge midfielder Marvelous Nakamba also missed out despite returning to full training two weeks ago.

Knowledge Musona came on as a second-half sub as Anderlecht beat Charleroi yesterday. The 28-year-old is still to make his first league start for the team.

Costa Nhamoinesu played the entire game as AC Sparta Prague beat Teplice in a league game.
