Chitiyo undergoes surgery

Ronald Chitiyo successfully underwent knee surgery in Harare this week.

The midfielder suffered the injury at the beginning of the year when he was a hit by a car in Epworth. His club, CAPS United paid all expenses believed to be around $6 000.

Chitiyo’s career was in danger after the doctors warned that he might not heal again if the operation is not done on time.

According to the Herald, the player has since been discharged and is home, recovering after spending a night in the hospital.

“Everything went okay, and the operation was successful. I am only left with the rehabilitation process” he said.

“I am in pain, the doctor said after two weeks, the pain will begin to ease, and by six weeks it should start to heal with the recovery process beginning.”

Chitiyo also thanked his club for coming on board and helped to save his career.

“I am happy that CAPS United came through for me, and I am looking forward to continuing with my career next season. I am confident that by the time the season begins I would be the same player I was before I got injured.”
