We are under pressure, Mapeza admits

FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza has admitted that his side is under pressure after dropping points in their last game.

Pure Platinum Play lost 1-0 to Harare City on Wednesday. They face Bulawayo Chiefs at Mandava Stadium this afternoon.

The encounter will be a tricky one for the home team considering that they lost in the reverse fixture while other giants like Ngezi Platinum Stars and Highlanders also fell to Chiefs.

“It’s a massive game for us because we know what happened in the first half of the season,” said Mapeza.

“We have to respond after we dropped points in Harare. We hope that everything goes well for us and get a positive result.”

Mapeza also maintained confidence that his team will win the title. They are currently on top, only with a point ahead of second-placed Ngezi Platinum.

“There is massive pressure, I think in 2016 we were in the same position with five games left then we lost to Harare City, in turn, surrendering the top spot to Caps United,” he said.

“We ended up finishing second. This season, it is a different situation because we are focused and united, which is the best for us at this stage.”

FC Platinum will go into the match with no injury worries. Kick -off time is 3 pm.
