Zim players shine in ABSA Premiership

Khama Billiat continues to shine after scoring his first league goal for Kaizer Chiefs in a 2-2 draw against Bloemfontein Celtic on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old who was also on target during the weekend in the MTN8 Cup opened the scoring in the 37th minute after a brilliant run into the box before slotting home. The strike was Billiat’s third goal in all competitions this season.

Khotso Malope netted the second one for Chiefs in the second half but Celtic found the back of the net twice later in the game to squeeze for a point.

Elsewhere, Matthew and Evans Rusike were also on target for their respective clubs.

Evans helped SuperSport beat Chippa United 2-1, scoring his team’s second goal in the 42nd minute after Chippa had equalised moments before. The forward has now found the back of the net twice in the league while he also netted once in the MTN8 tournament.

Cape Town City’s Matthew got his first goal of the season when he scored in his team’s 2-2 draw against Chippa United. The 28-year-old striker scored in the 5th minute to put City in front but his effort was cancelled out by Stars’ two second-half goals. They levelled terms in the added time to share the spoils.

Matthew has now scored twice in Cape Town City colours since his arrival in January.
