Three Zimbabwean players were on target during the ABSA Premiership Match-day 5.

Evans Rusike, Khama Billiat and Matthew Rusike scored for their respective clubs during the mid-week action.

Matthew got his first goal of the season when he netted in Cape Town City’s 2-2 draw against Chippa United. The 28-year-old forward who also received a booking in the game found the back of the net in the 5th minute, and the effort was his second goal in City colours since his arrival in January.

SuperSport United’s Evans started in the first XI in a 2-1 win over Chippa United and got his team’s winning goal in the 42nd minute. He was subbed off in the 67th minute.

The forward has now found the back of the net twice in the league while he also netted once in the MTN8 tournament.

Evans’ team-mate and fellow countryman Onismor Bhasera played the whole ninety minutes of the encounter.

Also getting his name on the scoresheet was Khama Billiat who scored his first league goal for Kaizer Chiefs in a 2-2 draw against Bloemfontein Celtic.

The Kaizer Chiefs forward now has three goals in all competitions this season after opening the scoring in the 37th minute.

Midfielder Willard Katsande started but received a yellow card in the added time.

Meanwhile, Chiefs remain winless in the league in this campaign.

Bidvest Wits’ Terrence Dzvukamanja was an unused substitute in their 3-1 over AmaZulu.

Usuthu midfielder Butholezwe Ncube received a caution and was subbed off in the 67th minute. His team-mate Ovidy Karuru did not play as he is still nursing an injury picked during the COSAFA tournament.

Baroka FC winger Talent Chawapiwa did not finish the game against Tapuwa Kapini’s Highlands Park

Chawapiwa was replaced early in the second half while Kapini started between the posts. The game ended in a 1-1 draw.

Polokwane City duo of goalkeeper George Chigova and forward Walter Musona featured against Knox Mutizwa and Dany Phiri’s Golden Arrows.

The Arrows pair took part in the clash with Phiri coming in as a second-half sub.
