Mutasa praises Phakamani Dube

Dynamos coach Lloyd Mutasa showered praises on utility player Phakamani Dube after the defender put up a stellar performance in the 2-1 win over Bulawayo City at the weekend.

Dube who usually plays as a right back partnered Jimmy Tigere at the centre back due to the absence of regulars Marshal Machazani and Godfrey Mukambi who were out through suspension, and the former Hwange man didn’t disappoint.

“Phakamani played well, and I was telling him that he can play better as a central defender than out on the wing back. I am very happy for him,” said Mutasa.

The Dynamos coach, however, admitted that he missed his regular players at central defence.

” Yes, who would not feel the absence of his regular defenders. I have to admit that we missed Marshal and Mukambi but the players who played in their position did very well. It’s only that the combination of Marshal and Godfrey has been playing together for a longer person.”

Dube has seen little action this season and his stellar performance over the weekend can open more opportunities for him in the remaining fixtures.
