We are prepared for the worst: Mahachi

Warriors midfielder Kuda Mahachi says they are leaving no stone unturned in their quest to qualify for the African Cup of Nations, including conditioning themselves to the worst possible treatment from Congo.

Zimbabwe play against Congo in Brazzaville on Sunday, and Mahachi says they are not taking anything lightly including being subjected to traumatising treatment that can affect their performance.

“We are prepared for the worst treatment including being made to wait at the airport for more than eight hours. We know this is what most countries do to their opponents. We have travelled a lot, and we know these things. But for us, we are well prepared to counter this,” said Mahachi.

“We are just going for the three points. I know it won’t be easy, but us we have the strong mentality, we have to qualify despite what treatment they have meted to us.”

Zimbabwe go into the match leading the group on superior goal difference after beating Liberia 3-0 at the National Sports stadium courtesy of a hattrick by captain Knowledge Musona.
