Mapeza not losing sleep

FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza is not losing sleep over giving ground to second-placed Ngezi Platinum after dropping two points away to Black Rhinos at the National Sports stadium.

Mapeza, however, cherished the point that they got after Rodwell Chinyengetere cancelled out an Allen Gahadzikwa first-half strike to draw the match 1-1.

“This is football, and in as much as we would have wanted maximum points, this draw is still crucial for us. We didn’t play well especially in the final third where we failed to create chances. It was always going to be difficult to come back from a goal down in the first half,” said Mapeza.

“Credit should go to the players for pushing hard in the second half. We attacked a lot until we got the goal, but could not push harder enough for the winner. But this point away from home is still very crucial for us, and we will continue to work hard until the end of the season.”

FC Platinum are now two points ahead of Ngezi Platinum Stars who beat ZPC Kariba 1-0 at Baobab Stadium. The defending champions host Herentals in Zvishavane on Saturday.
