We were blunt: Mutasa

Dynamos coach Lloyd Mutasa admitted that his side did not turn up in the goalless draw against Chapungu at Rufaro Stadium on Thursday.

Dembare struggled for rhythm and did nothing to trouble the visitors’ goalkeeper. They failed to register a single shot on target in the first half. Even the availability of new striker Kingston Nkatha could not inspire confidence.

“We were blunt upfront because we didn’t trouble the Chapungu defence. We had hoped to bounce back from the defeat against Highlanders, but that was not to be,” said Mutasa.

“Most of these teams come prepared for us because Chapungu were really determined. We now need to raise our game in the remaining matches so that we finish in a respectable position.”

The Glamour Boys were off colour and were lucky to share the spoils with Chapungu veteran striker Philip Marufu hitting the underside of the crossbar with a header towards the end of the match.

Only goalkeeper Simbarashe Chinani, Phakamani Dube, Marshal Machazani and James Marufu played better.
