Defending champs Harare City start Chibuku campaign

The 2018 Chibuku Super Cup season enters first round today when defending champions Harare City play Bulawayo City at Rufaro Stadium.

Kick-off time is at 3 pm.

The Sunshine Boys are looking to start their campaign with a positive result as they hope to land a third title having also clinched it in 2014.

Today’s encounter comes as Amakhosi are battling relegation in the league and have gone for eight games without picking up at least a draw. But Harare City coach Mark Harrison is not looking much into that, insisting they are not underrating their opponents.

“It’s going to be a tough encounter against a team which is fighting relegation in the league and, obviously, they could see this tournament as an opportunity to get some glory this season.

“We are focusing on beating Bulawayo City in a game we know they will throw everything to try and win it as well,” Harrison said.

Harare City’s Ishmael Wadi, Moses Muchenje and goalkeeper Ryan Harrison are not available for the clash due to injuries.

Meanwhile, the last meeting between the two sides played in July ended in a draw.
