Could this be Mutasa’s last game?

Lloyd Mutasa could bid farewell to Dynamos in the Chibuku Super Cup first round clash against Bulawayo Chiefs at Rufaro stadium as moves to relieve him of his duties reached the climax during the week.

A new coach, most probably Kalisto Pasuwa, is expected to take over by Tuesday, next week as the Dembare leadership seeks to salvage a season that has gone off the rails from the start of the season, with the first win coming after seven round of matches.

A source at the club says a number of former players have been spoken to during week with the prefered candidate to start soon.

“A new coach is on his way to the club. The executive has now decided that Mutasa is not the right man to save the situation despite being given a lot of time. The problem is the man can’t admit that he has failed, he is just giving excuses.

“The people that have been interviewed include Pasuwa who is the favourite, Naison Muchekela, and Moses Chunga. The executive can, however, choose to go for the young blood who might have new ideas,” the source said.

Mutasa was sacked during the season and assigned to juniors by the then club president, Keni Mubaiwa, but the decision was vetoed by board chairman Bernard Marriot.
