Preview: Chibuku Super Cup – 1st Round

The first round of the 2018 Chibuku Super Cup wraps up this afternoon as Highlanders host Yadah while CAPS United face ZPC Kariba.

Bosso will be hoping to advance to the next round and salvage something in the tournament after failing to hold on in the league. Yadah, on the other side, are playing in their second edition of the cup, and a win today will see them reach the quarterfinals again for the second successive season.

Midfielder Adrian Silla is available after missing Highlanders’ previous encounters following the death of his grandmother while defender Mbongeni Ndlovu is out due to injury.

The Stars will be banking on the experience of veteran striker Ralph Matema who once played for the Bulawayo giants.

In Harare, the Green Machine entertains ZPC Kariba at the National Sports Stadium.

The last time the two sides met was in a league game played in May with CAPS cruising to a 3-0 win.

However, it will be tricky for the side to replicate the results considering Kauya Katuruturu’s recent form. Kariba have posted three wins and a draw in their last five games. They also beat giants Highlanders in their latest encounter.

Elsewhere, Triangle host Shabanie Mine at Gibbo Stadium.
