Bonne hat-trick helps Leyton Orient set new record

Macauley Bonne scored a hat-trick in Leyton Orient’s big 1-5 win over Braintree Town on Tuesday, setting a new record of longest unbeaten start to the season in the club’s history.

Orient have now gone for thirteen games without a defeat, posting eight wins and five draws. They sit on top of the National League table with 29 points.

Bonne first hit the target in the 9th minute from the spot to open the scoring. He got his second goal of the day on minute 63 before rounding up the victory six minutes later. The Zimbabwe international also received a caution for a late foul in the first half.

The 22-year-old who has featured in all Leyton Orient’s league games in this campaign now leads the scoring chart with nine goals.
