Update on Tendayi Darikwa papers

The Zimbabwe Football Association has given an update on UK born defender Tendayi Darikwa.

The Nottingham Forest right-back was included in the 23-member squad for back-to-back 2019 AFCON Qualifiers against DRC set for next month.

The first encounter will be played on the 13th of October in Kinshasa while the reverse fixture has been scheduled for National Sports Stadium in Harare on the 16th.

Though ZIFA didn’t reveal much in a statement posted on their website, the association says Darikwa’s documents will be in order before the games.

“(Sunday) Chidzambwa also included Nottingham Forest Defender Tendayi Darikwa who is expected to have his documentation in order for the crucial matches,” ZIFA said.

The 26-year-old missed the trip to Brazzaville earlier this month after he failed to secure a local passport on time. He has represented the country in two friendly matches played in November last year against Lesotho and Namibia.
