Mpandare explains why Adam Chicksen failed to get his passport

Warriors manager Wellington Mpandare has explained why Adam Chicksen failed to secure his local passport.

The UK-born fullback who plays for Bradford City in the League One applied for the document at the same time with Tendayi Darikwa, but only the latter received his last night.

Speaking to Newsday, Mpandare clarified the issue, saying Chicksen’s application had some missing information.

“In case of Adam Chicksen, he filled in the form together with Darikwa, but there were some details missing on the form, so that is why his documents were not processed,” said Mpandare.

Chicksen is yet to feature in a competitive match for the Warriors. The last time he was on national duty was in March, playing at the invitational tournament in Zambia.

Meanwhile, Darikwa is expected to join the camp when it starts next week. The Nottingham Forest defender could not play in the game away in Congo Brazzaville despite being named in the squad, as he had not acquired his documents.

Zimbabwe will travel to DRC for the Afcon qualifier on the 13th before hosting the Congolese in a reverse fixture three days later.
