Tembo’s SuperSport Utd on the verge of making history

Kaitano Tembo is on the verge of making history with SuperSport United when they face Cape Town City in the final of the 2018 MTN8 trophy tonight.

The Pretoria based side who are the holders could become the third side to defend the crown in the history of the competition. Only Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs have achieved this fate since the tournament was established in 1973.

A victory today will also give Tembo his first silverware as head coach of the club after he was appointed on a substantive basis before the start of the season.

Other Zimbabweans who are in United squad that could write a piece of history today are Evans Rusike, Onismor Bhasera and goalkeeper Washington Arubi.

Tembo also looks to win the trophy both as a player and coach.

Kick-off time is 8:15 pm.
