Gallery: Warriors conduct first training session in DRC

The Warriors conducted their first training session in DRC this afternoon ahead of the 2019 Afcon qualifier on Saturday.

The boys arrived in the Congolese capital, Kinshasa, around mid-night after leaving the country at 7 pm.

The Warriors conducted their first training session in DRC at Stade des Martyrs.

The session was held at the venue for the match Stade des Martyrs. The squad consists of eighteen players who are being led by captain Knowledge Musona. Nottingham Forest defender Tendayi Darikwa, Alec Mudimu (Cefn Druids), Marvelous Nakamba (Club Brugge) and Khama Billiat of Kaizer Chiefs are other notable names in the team.

The 18-man team arrived in DRC around midnight.

About the venue
The encounter will be hosted at Stade des Martyrs in Kinshasa. The stadium was opened in 1994 and has a capacity of 80 000. It’s also home to AS Vita.

Stade des Martyrs has an artificial turf.

Stade des Martyrs lies about 17km from the Kinshasa CBD. The pitch surface is made of artificial turf.
