DR. Congo coach confident of beating Warriors

Democratic Republic of Congo coach Jean-Florent Ibenge Ikwange is confident of getting a positive result in the second leg of the Afcon Qualifier against Zimbabwe this evening.

The Leopards who arrived in Harare early yesterday lost the home encounter 1-2 on Saturday to slump to the third position of the Group G.

“It’s better to win than to lose. But when you have lost, you do not want to lose the match that comes after. You just have to get back into the race and start again as a warrior,” Ibenge told Foot.CD.

“We lost a match but when you look at the statistics… you will see that it was just not our day. Now, we have to make Tuesday a day for us.”

The Congolese dominated in all departments but were outscored from the few chances that Zimbabwe got. Ronald Pfumbidzai and Knowledge Musona were on target for the Warriors while the hosts got their consolation from Yannick Bolasie.

The reverse fixture will be played at National Sports Stadium and kick-off time is 7 pm.
