Dynamos camp has been thrown into turmoil because of a rift between some senior players and assistant coach Murape Murape.
The players cite Murape as being a snitch to the executive and supporters, accusing them of being sympathetic to sacked coach Lloyd Mutasa.
They blamed the gaffer for authoring a list of targeted players which he sent to a section of supporters so that they can be blackmailed.
Some of the seniors in the squad who spoke on condition of anonymity said all the older players have now been forced to stand on one side in solidarity with the targeted individuals as they feel they might also be next targets in the smear campaign.
“Now that the team is safe Murape is back at his plan to get rid of the senior players. Originally after assuming power he tried to get rid of some senior players, he accused them of being Mutasa’s people, but because the team was in a precarious position, he needed the experience of these players. Now, he is accusing them of holding the club at ransom for demanding their outstanding winning bonuses,” said one player.
Another player clarified on the issue of the targeted list saying:
“The list that is being circulated by a section of supporters which was written by Murape and sent to a guy called Munzira, has Peace, Nkatha, Marshall, Mwerahari and Saunyama.
“But if you are to look clearly, it was Nkatha’s goal that influenced that comeback against Caps United, Marshall has been playing a true captain’s role and was influential in the Black Rhinos win, Saunyama has been playing his best football at Dynamos now, Peace has been risking his career playing injured while Mwerahari got injured giving his all for the club.
“Mutasa is gone and is just being used as a scapegoat. First, it was Ocean, and we know Denver is a bad boy but people are not seeing Murape’s effect in this. He is rude to senior players, some of whom played against him before. There is no senior player who would want to tarnish his image at the moment.”
