Katsande comes out of international retirement

Willard Katsande has returned to international football after the midfielder had retired in February 2017 to concentrate on his club career.

The Kaizer Chiefs man announced his availability three weeks ago during a radio interview with Diamond FM. He is part of the 21-member squad that will do duty next month in the 2019 Afcon qualifiers against Liberia.

The 32-year-old was the captain of the squad that played at the Gabon Afcon Finals. He had earned up sixteen caps before his retirement.

Katsande cames in place of Danny Phiri who picked up an injury when the Warriors faced DRC at National Sports Stadium during the October international break.

Meanwhile, his experience will come in handy as Zimbabwe seek to qualify to the tournament for the second successive time.
