FC Platinum crowned CLPSL 2018 champions

FC Platinum have won the 2018 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League championship after beating Shabanie Mine 1-0 in a match played at Maglas Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Pure Platinum Play have amassed an unassailable 74 points, thanks to Devon Chafa’s 75th strike. Unlike last year where they won the title on the last day, the Zvishavane side managed to seal the triumph with two games to play.

Ngezi Platinum will now finish the season as runners-up despite the 2-0 victory against Bulawayo Chiefs.

Madamburo needed maximum points coupled with a loss for FC Platinum to keep the title race alive.

Meanwhile, Norman Mapeza has become the first coach in the past four years to win back-to-back titles. Former Dynamos mentor Kalisto Pasuwa achieved the success when he clinched the championship in four consecutive seasons from 2011 to 2014.
