Zifa communication manger Xolisani Gwesela says the Young Warriors squad for the 2018 Cosafa U-20 Championship will be finalised this week.

The regional tournament will be held in Zambia from 2 December and runs until the 14th of the month. Twelve teams will take part in the competition with Zimbabwe in Group C along with Botswana, Angola and runners-up in the last edition, Lesotho.

“We expect to have their names around midweek, however, even though during the last edition they failed to make it out of the group stages this time around we expect them to do better,” Gwesela told Sunday News.

The Young Warriors failed to progress beyond the first round in 2017 despite finishing their campaign unbeaten.

Coach Bekithemba Ndlovu is still in charge of the team with Mark Mathe as his assistant.
