Dynamos end season on disappointing note as Caps, Chapungu share spoils

Dynamos ended the season on a disappointing note after losing 3-0 to a relegated side, Nichrut at Ascot Stadium on Saturday.

The Harare Giants were punished by their former son, Rodrick Mutuma who scored a brace to add to Ephraim Mwinga’s penalty kick.

Mutuma first hit the target in the 38th minute before getting his second six minutes before the hour. The stalky striker never hid his joy as he celebrated his goals in front of Dynamos fans.

Mwinga made it three on minute 85 by converting a penalty kick.

Dynamos finish the campaign with 42 points while Nichrut has 33.

In Harare, Caps United and Chapungu played to a goalless draw at National Sports Stadium while Yadah and Harare City settled for 1-1 at Rufaro.

Zvikomborero Bizeki broke the deadlock on the 23rd minute for the Stars before City equalised ten minutes later courtesy of Wilfred Muvirimi’s effort.

Herentals put four past Shabanie Mine at Maglas Stadium, but the triumph could not help to send them in the fifth position.

They end the season equal on points with Highlanders but are sixth due to an inferior goal difference.

Blessing Majarira and William Kapumha got a brace each in the encounter for the Students.

Elsewhere, Chicken Inn drew 1-1 against Triangle United, Bulawayo City beat Mutare City Rovers 0-2 and Black Rhinos edged out Ngezi Platinum Stars.
