FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza will rest some of his regular players when they clash against Triangle United in the 2018 Castle Challenge Cup at Mandava Stadium this afternoon.

The league champions have had little time to prepare for the encounter as they arrived from Madagascar on Friday after playing CNaPS in the Caf Champions League while the reverse fixture is on Wednesday.

In an interview with Sunday News, Mapeza said: “We have to see the condition of the players. We had a light training session on Friday, and we trained again on Saturday then make a decision.

“The Champions League return leg is on Wednesday, so we have to rest some players. We certainly want to keep the cup, we have to play well, and win it, maintain that winning mentality.”

Meanwhile, FC Platinum won the inaugural Castle Cup Challenge last year after beating Harare City.
