I had to adjust quickly: Chipezeze

Baroka FC goalkeeper Elvis Chipezeze has attributed hardworking as the driving force behind his form at the Limpopo side.

The 28-year-old joined the Bakgaga on a three-year deal in the pre-season, and his performances have helped the team reach maiden Telkom Knockout final, keeping clean sheets against big teams like Mamelodi Sundowns and Bidvest Wits in the competition.

In an interview with KickOff.com, the reigning Zimbabwean Premier Soccer League Goalkeeper of the Year said: “It’s been going good, I have been doing well. It’s my first season.

“The coach saw something in me, and they just said let’s just give this guy a chance. It’s the hard work at training I think. This is our job, we are professionals, so if given a chance, then we have to push more.

“When I arrived with the statistics that I had back home, you know as a goalkeeper you need to prove your worth, especially when you are coming to the PSL. The way the PSL is … it’s very tough. I had to adjust very quickly. I think that’s the main reason why we are doing so well.”

Baroka will take on red-hot Orlando Pirates in the final of the TKO at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday.
