Rodrick Mutuma is set to stay in Gweru after Chapungu have expressed interest in him.

Mutuma closed the season in style scoring a brace with now-defunct Nichrut in a 3-0 win over Dynamos, enticing the Airforce side to go for him.

“The deal is almost done we are just waiting for some formalities. Remember it’s Chapungu coach Rodwell Dhlakama who took the boy from Mvuma to Shurugwi when he was coaching there some years back, so he knows to handle his bad boy tag,” said a source at the club.

A number of Nichrut players were left jobless after the club folded and most of them are set to join former coach John Nyikadzino at Central Region Division 1 side Sheasham.
