Zimbabwe U20 Women soccer team has progressed to the semi-finals of the 2018 African Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region 5 games underway in Gaborone, Botswana.
The girls finished as Group A runners-up with six points, one behind Botswana. They beat Malawi 1-0 on Tuesday to seal the qualification, thanks to a goal by Maudy Mafuruse in the 23rd minute.
Zimbabwe had opened their campaign at the tournament with a 3-0 win over Lesotho before succumbing to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Botswana.
They will now meet Group B winners South Africa in the semi-finals. The encounter will be played on Wednesday at 10 am.
