Plans for Warriors friendly match against Nigeria or Ghana revealed

Team Zimbabwe UK says they are planning for an international friendly match for Zimbabwe against either Ghana or Nigeria in the UK if the Warriors qualify for the 2019 African Cup of Nations.

The Sunday Chidzambwa coached side needs at least a point in their last Group G encounter against Congo Brazzaville in Harare in March next year to qualify for the 2019 finals.

According to the Herald, Team Zimbabwe UK Director, Wellington Muringai revealed the news while speaking at the CAPS United Legends UK Soccer Night Dinner & Dance at Wolverhampton’s Brookfield Club House this last weekend.

“As Team Zimbabwe UK, we always thrive for the betterment of football, not only in the UK but also in Zimbabwe.

“As I speak now, we are in the process of organising for the Zimbabwe senior team to come over to England for a friendly match against either Ghana or Nigeria once they qualify for the 2019 African Cup of Nations finals,” said Muringai.

Team Zimbabwe UK is a project aimed at identifying Zimbabwean football players in the UK. The team also work with Zifa in securing papers for those players born in that country but eligible to feature for the national team like Macauley Bonne and Tendayi Darikwa.
