Felton Kamambo arrested, two days before Zifa elections

Zifa presidential aspirant Felton Kamambo has been arrested and is in custody at Highlands Police Station in Harare.

Kamambo who is contesting against Phillip Chiyangwa in elections slated for Sunday is accused of threatening Zifa chief executive Joseph Mamutse with ‘future violence’. The allegations are that Kamambo told Mamutse that ‘uchazviona’ meaning you will see it.

The arrest comes just two days after another aspirant Gift Banda who is contesting incumbent Zifa vice-president Omega Sibanda, was arrested in Bulawayo on allegations of unprocedural selling of a piece of land when he was still Bulawayo deputy mayor.

Kamambo and Banda were initially barred from contesting until Fifa intervened.
