Danny Phiri recovers from injury

Danny Phiri has recovered from a knee injury that sidelined him from action for two months.

The Golden Arrows midfielder sustained a fracture during warm-up in Zimbabwe’s 1-1 draw against Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in the Afcon qualifiers on October 16.

“I’m happy to be back in action. I’ve fully recovered, and I’m now looking forward to playing regularly,” Phiri told The Chronicle.

“Barring injuries, I want to help my team get to a better position on the table. I know that if I keep on working hard I might get back into the national team. My desire is to be part of the Warriors squad that is fighting for the Afcon ticket.”

Phiri will be hoping to be part of Arrows’ matchday squad when they take on Amazulu in a Durban derby next week on Wednesday.
