Zifa lifts all suspensions imposed during Chiyangwa’s reign

The new Zifa executive, led by Felton Kamambo, has lifted all suspensions imposed by the former administration.

The decision was made at an Executive Committee Meeting on Friday.

Several administrators were banned from football activities during ex-president Philip Chiyangwa’s reign. Kamambo himself was suspended in March, a move which at one point destructed him in contesting in the polls before he approached FIFA.

The likes of Trevor Carelse-Juul, Eusebio Maseko, Rafiq Khan, Vincent Pamire, Leslie Gwindi, John Phiri, Fungai Chihuri and the association’s new vice president, Gift Banda also received bans when they tried to push for early elections.

These controversial bans were imposed especially on those who had disagreed with the Chiyangwa-led administration.

Meanwhile, the decision by the Executive Committee also sets free Matthew Rusike who had been under suspension from national team selections. However, his availability for future assignments will only depend on whether he still wants to play for the Warriors.
