Tickets for Warriors game against Congo to go on sale by end of January

The Zimbabwe Football Association has announced that the tickets for the 2019 Afcon Qualifier between the Warriors and Congo Brazzaville will go on sale at the end of January.

The encounter is set to be played on the 22nd of March, and it’s Zimbabwe’s last game in Group G.

The decision was made at an Executive meeting on Friday as to avoid chaos which marred the last home fixture against DRC in October. The association incurred enormous losses after several fans who had come to watch the 1-1 draw accessed the stadium without paying.

“Setting up of match organising committees to improve event organisation. Representatives from the competitions, finance, marketing and security will work hand in glove to ensure that the match between Zimbabwe and Congo on 24 March will be held flawlessly,” read part of the Zifa executive committee resolutions.

“Tickets for the match will go on sale at the end of January to reduce inconveniences encountered by supporters on the day of the match.”

Meanwhile, the Warriors need to avoid a defeat the encounter for them to seal qualification to the finals that will be held in June.
