Sanyamandwe fired as Dynamos President

Dynamos president Solomon Sanyamandwe has been fired, six months after he took over the post.

Sanyamandwe replaced Keni Mubaiwa in July 2018 after the latter had resigned. He was appointed together with a new executive but developed a frosty relationship with board chairman Bernard Marriot when he tried to get rid of Marriott’s blue-eyed boys Webster Marechera and treasurer Moses Chikwairo.

Since then, Sanyamandwe became a lame duck boss without powers like his predecessor Mubaiwa. Club chairman Isiah Mupfurutsa, a favourite of Marriott, has been the one running the show of late.

A few days ago, Sanyamandwe talked about the internal fights that affected the club’s progress in 2018.

The Glamour Boys had the worst campaign in over a decade, finishing in the 11th position after fighting relegation for the better part of the second half of the season.

Marriot, now believed to the club’s biggest shareholder, was also behind Mubaiwa’s resignation
