Chidzambwa to make few additions in Warriors squad

Warriors coach Sunday Chidzambwa says he will make a few additions to his squad for the Congo match including South African-based midfielder Butholezwe Ncube.

Ncube plays for AmaZulu alongside fellow countryman Ovidy Karuru. The 26-year-old last featured for the national team in March last year during the Four-nation tournament in Zambia.

Chidzambwa has been monitoring the player and has been impressed by his progression.

“I have been impressed by Butholezwe Ncube’s progress since he played in the team in Zambia. He has been playing very well for AmaZulu and has scored some goals coming from deep in midfield,” Chidzambwa told NewsDay.

“He will be part of the squad that will gather for the match. We will also add two or so from Europe if they manage to secure their passports on time.”

Some of the players the Warriors gaffer will be looking to add into his squad in the event that they have secured passports include Macauley Bonne and Adam Chicksen.

Zimbabwe play Congo at home in March in the final Group G of the 2019 Afcon Qualifiers.
