We are working on Rinomhota papers: Mpandare

Warriors manager Wellington Mpandare says they are working on securing local passport for UK-born midfielder Andy Rinomhota before the Congo match.

The 21-year-old has been in top form since he got promoted to the Reading’s senior squad at the start of the campaign. He has made eleven consecutive starts in the English Championship and also featured against Manchester United in the FA Cup where he was named the club’s Man of the match.

In an interview with B-Metro, Mpandare said: “As you can remember we tried securing a passport for Rinomhota when he was named in the provisional squad for the 2018 Cosafa Cup but we failed to acquire his documents on time and we have started the process all over again.

“This time around we are optimistic of securing his passport before the Warriors play their last Afcon qualifier in March.”

Mpandare and team have already sorted papers for Nottingham Forest defender Tendayi Darikwa and Wales-based Alec Mudimu.

The national team host Congo in the 2019 Afcon Qualifiers on March 23.
