Ovidy Karuru scored his second goal of the season in AmaZulu’s 3-2 loss to Kaizer Chiefs.
Amakhosi’s stand-in captain Willard Katsande also put his name on the scoresheet in a league encounter played on Wednesday night.
Karuru, a former Kaizer Chiefs player, went on target on the hour from a close range to cancel out Leonardo Castro’s early goal. The parity did not last long as Bernard Parker restored Chiefs’ advantage three minutes later.
Katsande who also found the back of the net two weekends ago extended the lead with a sliding shot on the 79th minute before Van Heerden reduced the deficit in the added time to finish the tie 3-2.
Karuru, meanwhile, did not finish the game as he was subbed off in the last quarter-hour while Khama Billiat came on from the bench as Kaizer Chiefs grabbed all maximum points.
