Chigowe names most competitive sides in CLPSL

Dynamos coach Lloyd Chigowe believes new boys Manica Diamonds and reigning champions FC Platinum are some of the few teams that will give them strong competition in the 2019 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season.

The Glamour Boys will be hoping for better fortunes this campaign but will have to bolster their squad after losing six first team players.

“Realistically we first have to look at the quality of the opposition as well as the time the opponents have had with their squads before we can think about winning the title,” the 54-year-old gaffer told The Standard.

“FC Platinum are the obvious favourites, Ngezi have lost a few players, Manica Diamonds have come big and have brought in big names, and Triangle have been a competitive squad.

“Those are the teams to look out for, but we look to be in it as well and we relish the challenge.”

The only regular players from last season’s squad remaining include goalkeeper Simba Chinani, defenders Jimmy Tigere and Godfrey Mukambi and forwards Kudzi Dhemere, Valentine Kadonzvo and Tawanda Macheke.
