Kamhapa reveals why he left CAPS United

Former CAPS United midfielder Cabby Kamhapa has revealed why he left the club to join Swaziland side, Mbabane Swallows.

Kamhapa opted not to renew his contract and moved to the reigning Swazi champions together with his ex-Green Machine teammate Stephen Makatuka where they signed two- year deals.

In an interview with the Herald, the midfielder said the desire to play in the CAF Champions League drove him to join Swallows.

“It’s a good team because almost every year they play Champions League, so it’s an ambition for every serious African player to want to showcase his talent in the competition,” Kamhapa said.

“Our aim is to go back in Africa because we are left with 10 games and we are trailing the log leaders by five points.

“But it’s sad I had to leave such an ambitious club like CAPS United who have a great coach in Lloyd Chitembwe. It’s only that sometimes in life you have to face new challenges. I will miss the great times we had under Chitembwe.”

Mbabane Swallows featured in the 2018/19 CAF Champions League but were knocked out of the tournament in the preliminary round by Tanzanian side Simba AS.
