Zim players based abroad round-up

Marvelous Nakamba featured for some few minutes on Sunday when Club Brugge beat Genk 3-1 in the league.

The midfielder had been frozen out in the past two games after returning from a red card suspension, and his snubbing attracted criticism with analyst and former player Marc Degryse questioning why Ivan Leko is leaving the Zimbabwe international on the bench.

Nakamba came on as a late substitute and played the remaining seven minutes when the Brugges had already put the game to death.

Another Belgium-based player, Knowledge Musona, is now enjoying more game time after featuring for another ninety minutes in Lokeren’s 3-1 defeat to Standard Liege.

Musona joined the side in January on loan from Anderlecht where he had struggled to get minutes on the field. He has now played in Lokeren’s last two games since recovering from chickenpox two weeks ago.

In the UK, Leyton Orient striker Macauley Bonne, Bradford City full-back Adam Chicksen and Nottingham Forest’s Tendayi Darikwa all started in their respective teams’ starting elevens while Reading midfielder Andy Rinomhota was not part of the playing squad over the weekend.

Tinotenda Kadewere received a yellow card when his French side Le Havre lost 2-0 in a league match to AS Nancy. The 24-year-old played the entire game and received the booking early in the first half.
