PSL clubs race against time to beat player registration deadline

Castle Lager Premiership club are racing against time to finalise their squads before the deadline for player registration lapses today.

The League announced early this week that the clubs will need to submit their squad lists before Friday ahead of the 2019 season.

The new campaign is set to kick-off on the 30th of March.

Teams like Dynamos and CAPS United have added some foreigners in their squads as they hope to come up with competitive selections that will challenge for silverware. The Glamour Boys snapped up a Cameroonian and a striker from Ivory Coast among others while the Green Machine also signed some players from West Africa.

Highlanders, however, took more local players on board such as returnees Nqobizitha Masuku and Prince Dube.

Chicken Inn and Harare City were also active in this pre-season transfer window. Newly promoted side Manica Diamonds had an almost complete overhaul, retaining a few players from the squad that won promotion into the top flight division last year.

Meanwhile, clubs can still add more players to the squad as the transfer window closes on the 31st of March. The maximum number of players a team can register is 30 of which five will be those born from the year 2000.
